SiN is a constellation of local organizations for PhD candidates and post doctorals at Norwegian colleges and universities.
SiN is a network promoting contacts between its member organizations and expressing joint opinions on political issues concerning education and research, and other issues relevant to the member organizations.

The minutes from the SiN annual meeting, which took place in Kristiansand on the 18th of May 2011, are now available online.
On 7. March SiN arranged a national seminar, ”The life after the PhD degree” (Livet etter doktorgraden), at the University of Bergen (UiB). Of appr. 80 participants, most were doctoral candidates from Bergen. The program can be found here. An article about the event (in Norwegian) was published before the seminar in “På Høyden”, UiB’s internal newspaper.
SiN vil med dette invitere til seminar om "Livet etter doktorgraden" på Egget (Studentsenteret), Bergen, 7. mars 10:00-16:00.
Det er et uttalt ønske både nasjonalt og på europeisk nivå at samfunnet trenger flere med doktorgradskompetanse. Samtidig er det ikke alltid en får tilstrekkelig innsikt i hvordan en skal komme seg videre etter endt doktorgrad.

Eurodoc, the European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers, will hold its annual meeting 31. March - 4. April 2011 in Vilnius, Lithuania.
PhD comics creator Jorge Cham visited Norway and gave his popular lecture ”The power of procrastination” in Oslo, Ås and Trondheim 14-16. June.
The lectures were a great success, with 150-500 people attending each event.
